Testaments to the Holocaust offers researchers full-text search capabilities on the text of the facsimile pages as well as on the captions and catalog records.   Precise searches of key primary source materials will yield a great understanding of the nature of life, suffering and death before, during and after the Nazi regime.

Basic Search
Users may search the entire database for the presence of any word or words within the full text of works.  Users may also limit their search by section:

  • Eyewitness accounts
  • Photographs
  • Propaganda material
  • Weiner Library publications
  • Biographical Index cards

Search the entire resource for the presence of any word or words within the full text of documents and the catalog.

Advanced Search
Conduct a search using a variety of criteria and retrieve very specific results. Users may search on a word or words occurring within the full text and the key fields of documents, including:

  • Author
  • Description
  • Document number or type
  • Language
  • Photographic subject  or location
  • Publisher
  • Titles and headings

Users may limit their search on the values of the following fields of information:

  • Date range
  • Section

Browse Indexes
When users click on an item within any of the following four alphabetic lists, a results list of all documents containing that name or synagogue will appear. Choose up to 20 items from any one index on which to search. 

  • Authors of eyewitness accounts
  • Authors of propaganda material
  • Biographical index cards
  • Directory of synagogues
